"555"
Modern features and retro design
The "555" is one of the best electric guitars ever made. The
British Invasion styling is combined with extra solid construction
techniques to give a substantial feel with extraordinary sound and
sustain.
Designed by SF Bay Area guitarist Fred Sampson, the body is constructed
from solid alder wood. The strings pass through the body with a fixed
bridge. The set neck goes deep into the body, similar to a Les Paul Junior
and features a unique slotted headstock that offers steep behind-the-nut
string tension with exceptional strength and stability. The result is
outstanding ringing sustain. Available with 3 Firebird mini humbuckers,
the guitar has a round warmth without the compressed, dark tone of full
size humbucking pickups. For trio players needing a bigger sound, the
"555" is also available with 2 full size matched humbuckers and
custom wiring.
The extra light weight, fantastic tuning stability, unique look, and
great tone make this one of the best guitar designs of the 1990's. |
