"How many hours this treatment must be applied?"
...for the Jensen C10Q RI, you can *hear* the difference *immediately*... but, I usually let the variac run for 5 to 15 minutes...
(You don't *need* any more than that...)
"I have 4 Celestion G10L-35... Can I enhance the sound by trying this?" 'enhance'?? This will probably *not* have any (or
much) affect on a Celestion, and I've already rcv'd an e-mail that said it had no affect on a Jensen C10R either "this is *not* a
"one-size-fit's-all" treatment". I basically used it on the C10Q because it was *brutally treble-y*. This process would probably
destroy a 'doped' speaker too! Be *very* careful on what speaker you use it on....If you have questions about which speaker
it *would/wouldn't* work with please either e-mail myself, or Ted.
There are *MAJOR* safety issues here also, that were brought to my attention (via e-mail):
1.) acetone is 9x more volitile than gasoline. since you're blanching
it on to a aeration vibrator, you're exacerbating the evaporation.
*any* nearby source of ignition is bad. this is best done outdoors.
2.) since you're probablly standing right over the speaker while doing
this, you're breathing the acetone vapors. short of methylethelketone,
i can't think of a single organic compound which is deadlier to breath.
doing this without proper NIOSH / OSHA apropriate breathing masks
[designed to filter this compound] is bad!
...always strife for better tone, but *be safe*! -Ron
